A new app that let's you point your phone at a carton of eggs and see just how "free range" they really are is exciting news. Given we are getting hoodwinked by egg producers getting us to pay extra for eggs that are not really what the average consumer would expect for "free range" (as in "free access to range in a pasture" or similar ) thanks to misguided government regulations this is a great thing. Apparently the latest regs allow birds in very different conditions from this to be classed as free range (seriously who are these people and do they not have families friends and a conscience?)
